2 & 1/4 cup whole Moong
Salt
Turmeric Powder
 
Step 2

500 ml Maas
2 tblsp Gram Flour
Salt 
Turmeric Powder
 

METHOD

Step 1

  •  Put Moong, salt & turmeric powder to boil in water.

Step 2

  • Whisk maas, gram flour, salt and turmeric powder
  • Make chutney with spices.
  • When moong is split in two, whisk it, add maas mixture and chutney
  • Bring to boil.
  • Put on low until thick.

Step 12 cups Gram Flour2 cups Water1 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp turmeric powder1 tsp dhana jeera powder1 tsp Red Chilli powder / Crushed red Chilli powder2 tblsp Oil Handful of dhania/coriander leaves Step 2
1/4 cup Oil
Pinch mustard seeds
Pinch whole jeera
2 slit green chillis
2 big tomatoes – liquidised
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Chilli Powder
1 & 1/2 cups Yoghurt
1 cup Water
1 tsp gram flour
Mealie Meal Rotis

METHOD

Step 1

  • Bring water to boil
  • Add gram flour, water, salt, turmeric powder, dhana jeera, red chilli/crushed red chilli, oil, dhania leaves
  • & stir for five minutes
  • It will form a lump
  • Empty in oiled tray and spread evenly
  • When cool, cut into squares 

 Step 2 

  • In a flat pot add 1/4 cup oil
  • Add pinch of mustard seeds, pinch of whole jeera, 2 slit green chillies.
  • When start to splutter throw in 2 big tomatoes – liquidised
  • Add 1 tsp crushed garlic, 1 tsp Salt, 1/2 tsp Turmeric, 1 tsp Chilli Powder 
  • Braise till oil shows in corners 
  • In liquidised tomatoes add 1 & 1/2 cups Yoghurt, 1 cup water & 1 teaspoon gram four
  • Liquidise well and throw into braised masala
  • Stir continuously till it comes to a boil 
  • Add dhokri squares and shake pot to mix
  • Give one boil and remove from heat
  • Serve with Mealie Meal rotis
  • ENJOY!

2 Potatoes peeled & thinly sliced into rounds 1/2 a cup Gram Flour1 tsp Cake Flour1/2 tsp Baking Powder1/4 tsp Salt 1 thinly sliced Green Chilli OR 1/2t ground Green ChilliOptional : 1 tblsp chopped Dhania/Coriander

METHOD

  • Mix all ingredients together except potatoes.
  • Add water to make a soft batter.
  • Dip potato rounds into the batter and fry in oil until puffed and golden.
  • Make sure potatoes are cooked through.

Variation ; Use sliced onion rings instead of potatoes

METHOD

  • Peel & slice Potatoes thin
  • Put oil in frying pan 
  • Add sliced potatoes
  • Add salt to taste, turmeric & red chilli powder
  •  Mix & turn
  • Let it cool
  • Now turn & let the potatoes get crisp
  • Turn again
  • Take out the crisp fried Aloo Fry.

1 cup Flour1 tsp Baking Powder6 tblsp Sugar1 tblsp Ghee1 EggAbout 1 cup Milk 

METHOD

  • Clean and wash carrots
  • Slice in the middle and remove the core.
  • Slice carrot into thin fingers. (Julienne)
  • Put the carrots in a colander and sprinkle salt and set aside for an hour.
  • Put fresh crushed garlic, oil, salt and chilli powder in a bowl – make a paste and add the carrots.
